Buxton Press invests £500,000 as demand rises a fifth
Buxton Press has invested £500,000 in two high-speed Fujifilm Luxel V-8 platesetters, in order to feed the 1,000 plate-a-day demand of its press hall.
The Derbyshire-based magazine and catalogue printer decided on the pre-press upgrade following the installation of its seventh KBA long perfector.
Operations director Kirk Galloway said: "With our volume up 20% on last year, we needed the best, the fastest and the most eco-friendly platesetters.
"Fujifilm fits the bill perfectly and has handled the changeover flawlessly, with both platesetters fully operational and working flat out."
Buxton, which was commended in the Environmental Company of the Year category at last year's PrintWeek Awards, said it was confident its latest investment would help reduce its environmental footprint.
