EskoArtwork targets display and sign market with nesting program

EskoArtwork is attempting to muscle in on the sign and display market after its new integrated nesting application for sign and display production was unveiled at Sign and Digital UK 2008 last week.

Paul Bates, UK and Ireland sales manager for the Ghent-based firm, said: “The sign and display market is a strategic element of EskoArtwork’s focus. We are moving into these markets with a significant presence, using our leading edge R&D and established experience in developing  innovative technologies.”

Based on EskoArtwork’s packaging layout technology, SignUp is a nesting application designed to efficiently match graphic designs with available substrates.

EskoArtwork said: “SignUp nests jobs based on size, shape and ordered quantities, placing designs as tightly as possible onto the substrate, minimising waste and thus reducing production costs.

“SignUp also reduces preparation times dramatically for operator-intensive tiling jobs, particularly for specially shaped large-format displays and substrates that require milling.”

EskoArtwork expects the software to help boost printers’ margins.
