DPI up to the job with Duplo bookletmaker

Digital Printed Image (DPI) has spent £23,000 on a new DSF2000 bookletmaker System from Duplo, after its previous machine was unable to handle the demands of a new contract.

The Dorset-based digital printer picked up an undisclosed major book stitching deal last month but, according to managing director Robert Jupp, the company’s previous bookletmaker, a Plockmatic 90, was struggling to keep up.

He said: “Once the contract kicked in, it became clear that our old machine wasn’t big enough to handle the work.

“Hopefully the new machine can help us pick up even more work. We can push work through quicker now so the capacity is there.”

In its first week at the plant, DPI put through 10,000 booklets on the DSF2000.
