By Ramu Ramanathan Monday, 15 March 2010
PrintWeek India - Offset printer Ma Prints is targeting the digital segment after it invested in two InfoPrint machines, one of which is the InfoPrint Pro C900 that comes with EFI Fiery RIP. This is the first one of its kind in India. The second unit is a monochrome printer. The unit is located in the centre of the Bengaluru's print hub on Rajkumar Road.
Guru Talwar, the head of Ma said: We have installed the first InfoPrint Pro C 900 colour machine and also the first combo deal in India." Now, in addition to offset print, designing and holograms, Ma can offer digital.
According to Talwar: "We are not selling a commodity. Printing is an art. We relish our jobs." With the Infoprints, Ma Prints hopes to target walk-in customers. It hopes to target the contract business and customers like the corporates and publishers.
He added: "Our slogan for 2010 is ‘we are no longer part of the rat race. We are part of the cheetah race'."
The Pro C900 which was being set-up while PrintWeek India was visiting, prints at speeds of up to 90ppm in full colour, and can handle stocks of 60-300gsm up to SRA3. The printing does not slow down with heavier stock and the speeds are real time. The machine has an 11,000-sheet input capacity and toner can be refilled on the fly.
