Knight life There’s no avoiding it – it’s an Ipex year and the printing show is creeping up quickly. This month, PN attended the pre-media summit to find out more about the event. The highlight of the week was a medieval banquet, which saw guests get into the spirit of things by dressing up in ye olde garb. The catchphrase of the night shouted by merry guests was drink hail, wassail, perhaps going some way to explaining the many sore heads the next day.

Snow bonus Robert Wiseman Dairies has rewarded its staff for their tenacity during the testing weather conditions this winter. One-off bonus payments of £100 were made to 3,500 workers who ploughed on during the tough conditions to keep the milk flowing.
Fantastic Plastics The British Plastics Federation took an imaginative approach to raising money for earthquake-stricken Haiti this month when it raffled off the remaining bottles of wine from its council lunch, held at the Bank of England. A total of £320 was raised.
Bag news The carrier bag debate took a new twist this month when it emerged plastic carrier bags blocking drains caused a flood in the Florida resort of Marco Island. The incident is part of evidence being put forward to back a ban on single-use carrier bags in the US state. Surely a case of bad disposal, not bad product?
