Jo Francis tracks down the solutions to your technical troubles
Q I'm thinking of launching a personalised greetings card business. To work properly, the cards will need to be personalised on the front and on the inside with a mix of type and images supplied by the customer. I'm based near Cheltenham and so ideally would like any contacts in the South West that you feel I could call and visit to discuss this idea further. That said, at this stage geography is not a real issue and if you can recommend a company strongly, I'd be happy to travel.
Here are some contacts that will hopefully help progress your idea. There's a long-established digital print specialist pretty much on your doorstep in Cheltenham - Prom Print based in Imperial Square. Call 01242 235926 or visit www.prom-print.com. Elsewhere, Sherwood Press is a well-known greetings cards printer that prints both conventionally and digitally. Sherwood also has the fancy software necessary to do personalised printing, too. See www.sherwood-press.co.uk or call 0115 928 7766 for more information. Other companies that are likely to be able to help include Gemini Digital Colour, in Bridgend, one of the longest-established digital print companies in the country with a good range of kit for printing and finishing. Telephone 01656 652447 or see www.geminidigitalcolour.co.uk. London's 1st Byte is a digital printer with a huge range of digital kit. See www.1stbyte.co.uk or call 0844 815 9662. Last, but certainly not least Urban Ink, also in London. Call 020 8373 5000, www.urban-ink.co.uk.
I'm looking for a price on lenticular printing for a moving image, the specs would be 48 A6 sized cards - each a different design with black print on the reverse. The quantity is 2,000.

During my previous stint on this page I pulled together the definitive list of lenticular printers. But times have changed and some of those no longer do it, while lenticular is now do-able using digital kit and DI presses too. I'd love to hear from anyone out there with lenticular know-how who doesn't feature in the list below, so I can create a new definitive list. Contacts: 3-D Images 020 8364 0022; Vinalith 01689 878211; Augustus Martin 020 7537 4200; Ryedale Printing Group 01751 432505; SMP Group 020 8855 5535; Spatial Imaging 020 8332 1948; Formula 11 020 8773 2211; GBM Group 0161 273 5562; Chesapeake Labels 01494 618600.
