Markzware FlightCheck Pro
I swear by my Markzware FlightCheck Pro
Monday, 09 March 2009
We introduced the software into our workflow to help identify problems in native PDF files.
The system benefits both designers and printers by flagging up potential problems at the design and pre-press stages. This allows for a smooth transition from design and pre-press through to print, meaning less downtime caused by files needing to be resupplied or corrected by the printer. The settings are adjustable to allow you to focus on certain issues and to monitor specific files.
I like it because it quickly identifies RBG colour space, trapping and over-printing issues and even problems that might have occurred with ink density. I work on a high-end system with inbuilt file-checking facilities, but I still think it is important to have a system like FlightCheck Pro to catch any problems early on.
