Consumer Magazine Printer of the Year: Southernprint
Consumer Magazine Printer of the Year - Winner: Southernprint
Tuesday, 21 October 2008
Producing "an impressive and varied range of magazines" and "showcasing an array of finishing techniques and papers", Southernprint has held on to the top spot in the Consumer Magazine Printer of the Year category.
Hailed by judges for its work on titles including Mojo, SFX and Monocle, the printer demonstrated outstanding finishing techniques, which included binding one edition of global affairs title Monocle with an elastic band. The production of Future Publishing’s SFX was also highlighted by judges, with one describing the title as an outstanding print and a pleasure to look at. The company used a Manroland Lithoman IV press to print the popular science fiction title, with the occasional section printed on its Heidelberg B850B.
