Catalogue Printer of the Year: Southernprint
Catalogue Printer of the Year – Winner: Southernprint
Tuesday, 21 October 2008
Perennial finalist Southernprint has knocked Precision Colour Printing off the top spot to claim the title of PrintWeek's Catalogue Printer of Year.
Judges said the company displayed an “impressive range of work” printed at a consistently high standard. Its work for Jeld Wen Doors, which required the company to print on 100% recycled stock, was singled out by the judges. To meet the client’s demands, Southernprint conducted several trials on several papers before settling for 250gsm Cyclus Offset for the cover and 90gsm for the text. The client was said to be delighted with the results. Other clients include blue-chip companies such as Next, for which it produces its best-sellers guide, and Mini Magazines, undersized A5 publications that it produces on its Manroland RV711 PLV press.
