We invested in the Technotrans beta.f dampening filtration system mainly for economic reasons, but the fact that it helps us reduce the amount of chemistry we use also fits in neatly with our environmental strategy. We are working towards ISO 14001 and are trying to cut our alcohol levels.

The water in the system stays very clean and so we spend less time cleaning the tanks and removing dirty water and chemicals. We think this will lead to a significant saving in fount solution and alcohol. We also no longer have to remove the dirty dampening water as special waste and so have also saved in this area. Although it’s too early to say for sure as the system is still new to us, I am hoping we won’t have to change the filters more than once every six months.
