Founding directors sell up their share of The Printing House
Crewe-based B2 and B3 printer The Printing House (TPH) has said it is planning to streamline its business after two of the company's directors sold their stake in the business.
Derek Springthorpe and Martyn Winstanley have left the company, selling up to fellow directors Peter Harrison and Paul Springthorpe, Derrick's son.
According to Harrison, the company is looking to cut costs as it moves forward, as well as investing in Heidelberg Suprasetter technology, which Harrison said would "improve efficiencies in the long term".
He added: "There will not be any obvious changes, although we will probably have a different style to the previous regime. We want to make sure everything is perfect right up until delivery."
TPH has two five-colour B2 Sakurai machines and a B3 single-colour Sakurai press. The £2.5m-turnover company, which employs 36 people, also has its own design agency.
Most of the business' customers are local, but it has recently announced an online presence, which it said has led to its customer base going nationwide.
Derek Springthorpe, who started the company alongside Winstanley 17 years ago, said: "We started this company when the country was recovering from the last property crash and we invested in people and technology to make print buying efficient and cost-effective.
"Now we have customers who are feeling the pinch because of the latest credit crunch and I am delighted that Paul and Peter are carrying on that tradition."
