Flint Group buys Russell-Webb powder division

Flint Group has signed an agreement to acquire the powder business of consumables manufacturer Russell-Webb for an undisclosed sum.

The business will be integrated into Flint's pressroom consumables division, Day International, while Russell-Webb's coatings division will continue as an independent company, RW Coatings.

Staff and turnover figures for the company are unavailable at present, although the managing director of Russell-Webb, Tim Webb, said that redundancies would be minimal. Webb will be a consultant to Day and chairman of RW Coatings.

Dennis Wolters, president of Day International, said: "Russell-Webb's reputation for providing products manufactured to the highest possible standards fits with Day International's ongoing drive to deliver exceptional value, consistent quality and continuous innovation to customers around the world."

Earlier this year, Day also acquired Hydro Dynamic Products – the West Sussex-based manufacturer of pressroom chemicals.

Day International manufactures and distributes consumable products used in offset, flexographic and digital printing.
