Lick Group builds on growth with £200,000 investment

Yorkshire-based Lick Group has boosted its digital and post-press kit as part of a £200,000 investment.

Lick Group has installed a Konica Minolta Bizhub 6500 digital colour press and a Buhrs BB300 and Sitma C80 750 mailing line on the backof an increase in demand.

Andrew Brown, operations director of the Lick Group, said since the inception of the group's digital division, demand had increased: "It was an issue of capacity. We didn’t want to replace our original Xerox but add to it, and the Konica Minolta had the edge."

He said: "As a more robust piece of machinery, the new Konica can take a far wider range of stock including most sheetfed papers."

Following the acquisition of Kemshall Design at the start of the year, the 63-staff company has added to its workload by providing its existing clients with a digital print option.

"We've been growing our digital side with both new and existing clients, producing anything from multi-page brochures to leaflets and flyers," said Brown.

The digital division has also doubled its turnover since its start-up at the beginning of the year, according to Brown, and there are plans to increase it further with the new capacity.

The Buhrs five-station polywrap line will wrap around 4,500 items, including brochures and catalogues.
