Robert Horne to move Cardiff base to Bristol
Robert Horne has announced it will close its Cardiff branch and move all operations to its Bristol site as part of its drive to create larger regional centres.
In the Midlands, the paper merchant has also said its Nottingham branch business will transfer to its Birmingham branch.
Dave Allen, Robert Horne managing director, said: “This is part of a programme to invest in bigger regional centres where we have more resources to better service our customer base.
“As our business continues to grow in areas such as wide-format digital solutions, we want to ensure we offer customers the expertise they require, while providing the high level of customer service they expect.”
It is understood that all staff affected by the changes have been given the opportunity to relocate to the Bristol or Birmingham centres.
The company said the decision was a key step to strengthen its regional centres with the move of two branches into bigger local offices.
Earlier this year, the company strengthened its presence in the UK plastics market with the acquisition of Vink Plastics in the UK and Ireland (PrintWeek, 19 May 2008).
The Robert Horne Group is based in Northampton and distributes paper, plastics and board and is a part of the PaperlinX merchant group.
The PaperlinX group includes Robert Horne, PaperCo, Howard Smith, M6 Paper and Glenmore Business Papers.
