Global Graphics appoints former Adobe Systems MD

Global Graphics has appointed Gary Fry, former managing director of Adobe Systems Benelux, as its new chief executive officer, with effect from 1 July.

Fry, who has worked for rival RIP-supplier Adobe Systems since 2001, has been tasked with taking Global Graphics in "a new strategic direction".

He replaces Jim Freidah, who has resigned from the company's board, on which he had served as chief operating officer from 1999, before being appointed chief executive in 2007.

Johan Volckaerts, chairman of Global Graphics, said: "Jim Freidah has navigated Global Graphics very successfully through periods of great change and has created a well-structured, high-performing organisation.

"Gary Fry has the skills and experience to re-orientate the company, bringing a fresh approach to our customers, markets and products."

Volckaerts added that Fry's background in both sales and engineering made him "highly qualified to take the company through its next phase of development".

Fry, who was unavailable for comment as PrintWeek went to press, has previously worked in senior sales roles at Catalyst Solutions and Oracle.
