Star Product: PerfectProof PrintFactory

Offering workflow optimisation for large-format production, PrintFactory builds on the success of PerfectProof’s flagship software ProofMaster, aimed at the sign-printing sector.

PerfectProof’s latest addition to its workflow portfolio is designed to drive the production of large- and super wide-format banners, posters, signs and silk-screen films.

PrintFactory shares ProofMaster’s modular architecture, providing production tools, colour management, soft proofing and the automation needed in different parts of the workflow. Its multi-platform design means it can be used with both Macs and PCs, and handles a wide variety of file formats.

The firm has claimed the addition of PrintFactory to its range makes it “the most versatile solutions provider for proofing, large-format, photo and silk-screen film production”.

PrintFactory’s wizard-based interface is designed to make creating profiles easy, and to allow users to align various machines and maximise colour gamut across different media.

The software lets users set up advan-ced manual and automated tiling and generate eyelet markers, and add seam lines. It can also be used to generate die-cut lines to drive job finishing.

PerfectProof is a partner of Alwan Color Expertise, Epson, HP, X-Rite, EskoArtwork and Gradual Software. In addition, the firm said that PrintFactory supports more than 300 digital presses and cutting plotters, including models from Nur, Inca, Durst, Mimaki and Scitex.

The software will be unveiled by the firm at Drupa 2008.
