Mystery around Essex print firm
Confusion surrounds the situation at digital printer Masterange Business Services in Essex.
The company went into administration on 7 March, with insolvency practitioner Chantrey Vellacott stepping in.
However, Masterange continues to operate and it is now believed that Chantrey Vellacott sold the assets to a new company, Masterange Services.
The companies share a secretary, Barbara Evans, and Masterange Service’s sole director is Janet Thomson – believed to be the wife of MBS director John Thomson.
Chantrey Vellacott refused to answer any enquiries regarding MBS. Despite repeated attempts by PrintWeek to contact the company, at the time of going to press, Evans and Thomson had not commented.

Masterange Business Services was purchased by Opportunities Ltd 3 weeks ago, the directors were Leslie Kerrison & Janet Poulter (White Oak Packaigng, Hammond White Oak Press) and circa 20 other companies that have all gone bust. However it seems after looking at companies house these two have resigned and its looks like a phoenix with Thompson back in charge or mayby Mrs Thompson.
Fairly obvious that there is more misery to come mostly for the staff and you have to feel sorry for them.
