Inkski hires ex-Xaar man to lead business development

Inkski has appointed Bryan Palphreyman as director of business development with the aim to drive the company's "innovative inkjet technology to market".

Palphreyman will take immediate responsibility for developing the company's licensing and strategic partnerships.

He previously held the role of business development manager at printhead specialist Xaar, where he developed early applications for its 1001/HSS platform.

Cambridge-based Inkski was founded in 2004 to develop next-generation non-impact digital technology to out-perform the speed and resolution of existing inkjet capabilities.

Palphreyman said: "This is an exciting time for digital. It is becoming clear, however, that current inkjet is simply not fast enough in comparison to conventional printing.

"The industry is looking for a technology that can deliver the speeds it wants. Inkski has a new model – a paradigm shift – which can deliver the speeds necessary to penetrate these markets

"The challenge is to find the right partners with the foresight and vision to take digital to the next stage of its evolution. With the support of the team at Inkski, I am confident that we can deliver a simple, robust, low-cost printing technology that will help our partners make this transition, and change the future of digital."

Inkski has been working on a printing method known as Light Initiated Liquid Offset (LILO). The process is reported to be 20 times faster than traditional inkjet, propelling 400,000 drops per second for each data channel.
