Bobst celebrates sales bonanza with seven gluers in seven weeks
Bobst has sold seven of its folder-gluer lines to UK packaging printers in a seven-week period, beating the five sales it made in autumn last year.
The sales included three of its new Starfold gluers, three high-performance Alpina II machines and one mid-range Mistral. The company also sold several peripheral units, including four high-speed Cartonpack GT automatic packing units.
Customers include Kent-based Offset Productions and East Kilbride-based The Boxshop, while the other five have remained anonymous. Three of the clients are new to Bobst folder-gluers.
Lee Alton, Bobst's product manager for folder-gluers in the UK and Ireland, said: "Bobst has a very loyal customer base, but when plants are new to our gluers, there has to be a reason for them to change from the brand they currently use.
"These seven sales have come about because of the new technologies we have brought to the market, particularly the launch of the new Starfold gluer with its revolutionary Accufold system, and because of our track record on service."
Alton added that Bobst offered high levels of support and the market in the UK and Ireland was starting to appreciate this.
"We've got 20 or so technicians on the road as well as six product specialists whose job is solely to help customers maintain their production at the highest levels possible," he said.
"We're now in the process of revamping our training centre in Redditch as an even better facility for customers where they can not only get training but also use it as a resource centre."
