Bobst Starfold: one sold to Offset Productions in Kent
Order boon for Bobst
By Jill Park Wednesday, 17 October 2007
Bobst says it has sold seven folder-gluer lines in the UK in as many weeks, buoyed by strong sales of the new Starfold product launched in June.
Starfold buyers include The Boxshop in East Kilbride and Offset Productions in Kent, which ordered a Starfold at the end of September to join its Asitrade Foliostar laminator and Bobst SPeria die-cutter.
Bobst has also sold three Alpina II gluers and one Mistral mid-range gluer as well as several peripheral units, including a high-speed Cartonpack GT automatic packing unit.
Bobst product manager Lee Alton attributed the sales to the "new technologies" on offer and the company's "track record on service".
"Bobst has a very loyal customer base, but when plants are new to our gluers, there has to be a reason for them to change from the brand they currently use," he said.
Bobst is revamping its training centre in Redditch, which will also act as a resource centre for customers.
