German firm rolls out security printing range

The EDIsecure XID 5xxie Printer Series is launching with new security features to protect against counterfeiting and misuse of personal information.

Germany-based Digital Identification Solutions has announced its most comprehensive launch program since its foundation, with a total of 10 new products.

All machines in the company's EDIsecure 5xxie Printer Series will be equipped with Security Erase, which ensures information is erased from the ink ribbon after card printing to prevent the misuse of personal information, and IPSEC, a set of protocols for authenticating and encrypting each IP packet in a data stream ensuring information flows through a network without changes to individual computers.

In addition, the XID 580ie and XID 590ie possess a dye-sublimation UV ink ribbon for printing invisible information on demand, as well as creating monochrome photographs with a special dithering technology to create high-quality black-and-white images, such as photographs, logos, emblems, coats of arms and variable text that can be viewed under UV light.

Digital Identification Solutions, which claimed it has a worldwide install base of more than 5,000 systems, plans to introduce the new range and security features at more than 17 international trade fairs, exhibitions, VIP events and web-casts within the next three months.
