GreenPrint tool slashes waste and props up profits
GreenPrint Technologies has released its waste-reducing software into the UK market.
The GreenPrint tool minimises paper and consumables usage to help firms cut their environmental impact and save money.
The application, which is aimed at both enterprises with sizeable printer fleets as well as smaller operations, offers a number of tools to minimise waste.
It finds and removes unnecessary blank pages that fall at the end of a run as well as removing images or text from print-outs to decrease ink consumption.
GreenPrint allows users to save web documents as PDFs with a single click, maintaining the online format without wasting paper.
According to the firm, a 20,000-strong firm using the Enterprise edition would save 35.2m pages each year, a cost saving of £1.3m.
The software developer can also bundle in its EverGreen font, which is also targeted at waste minimisation. According to GreenPrint, the typeface reduces paper output by 15-20% compared with Arial, Times New Roman and Helvetica.
The Enterprise version, which includes EverGreen, can be downloaded from the firm’s website for £38 ($75).
