Seiko launches 'world first' mild solvent fluorescent inks

Seiko has launched what it claims are the world's first mild solvent fluorescent inks.
Distributed in the UK by Colourgen, the new Neon Yellow and Neon Pink inks are compatible with the Seiko's ColorPainter W-54S and 64S wide-format printers.
Available now, the two inks have been optimised to work with the manufacturer's ColorPainter GX inkset and can work as spot colours or as part of the CMYK process.
The neon inks, which are supplied in 500ml cartridges, can replace the existing light cyan or light magenta inks within the machine setup and output onto substrates such as PVC and banner materials.
Colourgen product marketing manager Melanie Enser said the new fluorescent inks provide "brilliant eye catching colour" under normal lighting conditions.
The manufacturer claims that the inks that retail for £225 each before VAT are suitable for the production of sign and display applications for environments such as night clubs, casinos and pubs.
"They produce spectacular results, particularly for short-term POS applications, special events and trade show decorations," she added.
