Severnprint invests in digital equipment

Commercial printer Severnprint has installed two new Xerox presses along with a Morgana DigiFold in a £430,000 investment.
The Gloucester-based company, which has 53 staff, installed the new iGen 4 and 770 presses to upgrade its existing colour digital print capability.
Severnprint is using the 770 press for print runs of up to 100 and the iGen 4 for larger jobs of up to 1,000 copies.
Severnprint co-founder Nigel Pealing said: "The iGen 4 has everything we were looking for in a press – it is robust, with great colour consistency and its pricing means we can be more competitive. It puts us in a different league."
The family-owned firm, which was founded in 1977, has a strong environmental ethos and in 2008 was ranked 14th in the The Sunday Times Best Green Companies list.
Its presses are powered by renewably generated electricity from Ecotricity while earlier this year the company cut its water consumption by 70% by switching to Fujifilm’s Pro T3 processless plates.
