Fraser Hamilton invests in an Agfa Avalon N4 platesetter

Fraser Hamilton has taken delivery of an Agfa Avalon N4 platesetter as part of an ongoing environmental push at the north London print business.

The N4 machine replaces a previous Agfa Palladio CTP system at the Seven Sisters-based company, which has recently moved to chemistry-free plate output.

The 22-staff business is using the Avalon machine to produce Agfa Azura TS plates for its Komori and Heidelberg B2 press set-up.

Fraser Hamilton, which has become ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 accredited in the past 18 months, has linked the new system to its Agfa Apogee workflow.

According to managing director John Chandler, the addition of the Avalon machine has enabled the £2m-turnover company to improve plate image quality while reducing chemical usage.

"It is simple to use as well as clean and easy to maintain. The quality of the Azura plates is also fantastic," he added.

The litho and digital print company produces boasts a wide range of clients, including financial firms, the NHS, local government and universities. It produces stationery, reports, accounts and personalised greetings cards.
