JKN Digital installs UK's first HP Scitex LX800
By Adam Hooker Thursday, 19 August 2010
Digital signage printer JKN Digital has installed the UK's first HP Scitex LX800 wide-format press.
The machine, supplied by City & West End Solutions, replaces an LX6550 and joins two LX2550 presses and the company's remaining LX6550 - all of which were installed in the last year.
JKN Digital installed the machine at its Preston facility at the end of last month and, according to managing director Peter Nicholls, it is set to make a huge difference to the company’s offering.
"The functionality on the new and existing [wide-format] products provides us with the tools to add flexibility and speed that will increase our production output and service offering massively," he said.
"Our aim is to continue increasing production but also push the business forward into market sectors we previously didn't have the flexibility to approach."
JKN Digital's latest press is 3.2m wide, runs at 88sqm per hour, using water-based HP latex inks, and features dual-roll printing and the ability to print off jobs without de-webbing.
Following the installation, JKN Digital plans to retrofit its remaining LX6550 with a dual roller.
