Flint Group's pressroom consumables division Day International has launched what is said to be a fully biodegradable cleaner - the HDP Press Frame Multi Clean.

The environmentally friendly cleaner is designed for pressroom cleaning applications and is non-flammable and does not contain any volatile organic compounds.

HDP UK sales manager Chris Whalley said it is ideal for printers that still use potentially hazardous solvent-based or chemical cleaners.

He said: "It can be used for purposes ranging from the removal of heavy ink deposits on covers and floors through to light soiling of press frames and general office and paintwork cleaning."

West Sussex-based pressroom chemicals manufacturer HDP was acquired by Day International in February this year.
