WWF and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency were two of the key companies that attended Curtis Fine Papers' recent environmental forum.

The event was centred on Curtis' Environmental Contract – a six-point plan that outlines the steps the company has taken towards sustainable paper manufacture.

Curtis' environmental spokesman Charles Whitaker hosted the event, which was held at the paper maker's mill in Fife, Scotland.

He said: "The purpose of the forum was to honour our commitment to listen to the views of stakeholders when developing our Environmental Contract.

"It was encouraging to have such support for our activities from such a wide range of interest groups."

Adam Harrison represented WWF Scotland at the event and said the conservation organisation welcomed the efforts being made by Curtis to address environmental challenges.

He said the Environmental Contract also makes clear to others what work Curtis is doing towards sustainability.

Ranald Strachan, of the Fife Coast and Countryside Range Service, also attended the event.

He said the company has consistently engaged in open communication with the reserve and have a representative on the advisory board.

Curtis is an independent Scottish company that specialises in the production of uncoated fine papers for the graphical, converter, security and specialist markets.

The Environmental Contract will be launched in the next few months.
