New piezo printheads target UK mail sector

Inkjet specialist Buskro has introduced what it has claimed is the largest piezo drop-on-demand printhead.

The Atlas 3250 and Aurora 3250 printheads incorporate a 3in head that can be used both inline or on standalone applications. The products largely target the mailing sector.

Buskro UK general manager Peter Price-Stephens said: "With the 3in, you can print variable text at a very high quality.

"For applications requiring wider print swathse, up to eight printheads can be stitched seamlessly to provide 24in of high-quality print at horizontal resolutions up to 660dpi."

The Atlas version uses solvent-based ink to print onto a variety of porous and coated substrates. The Aurora incorporates UV-curable ink to print on materials, including paper, plastic and metal.

Price-Stephens added that the UK division of Buskro, based in High Wycombe, was planning to increase its marketing in a bid to win more UK customers. Most of the firm's clients are currently in the south east of England.

Buskro's main corporate office is in Ontario, Canada, where the products are manufactured. The company also has a base in the US.
