TV Channel 5 has worked with large-format specialist Pyramid Visuals to produce two giant 17x10m posters for the Gadget Show exhibition held in Birmingham last month, in order to illustrate the difference between traditional and digital film.

Unilever hands Charterhouse multi-million pound contract
Following a competitive tender, print manager Charterhouse has been awarded a multi-million pound print contract from food and healthcare product manufacturer Unilever, away from its rival HH.

Commerzbank appoints German smart card manufacturer to print scented credit cards
Commerzbank has appointed German smart card manufacturer Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) to print a range of scented credit cards. During the three-year contract, the print firm will produce cards for the bank's partner brands including Steigenberger, TUI, Robinson and Advocard.

Wigan Council awards 140,000 title to PCP

Wigan Council has awarded Telford-based Precision Colour Printing (PCP) the contract to print Borough Life Residents Magazine, after the organisation named Smith Davies Press as its new publisher. The 140,000-run title will initially be produced quarterly.

Shropshire County Council forms framework
Shropshire County Council is looking to start a print framework worth £1.4m. The work will consist of lithographic, spot colour and full-colour work for runs up to 200,000. Jobs will include letterheads, business cards and posters.

UK Biobank awards print and mailing contract to Stralfors

Medical research charity UK Biobank has awarded Stralfors UK a contract to supply print and mail services for a targeted recruitment programme. The company was attracted to the print firm by its environment and data security certifications.
