PrintWeek Awards 2008 shortlist revealed
The waiting is finally over; the shortlist for the PrintWeek Awards 2008 has been unveiled.
Each and every year the judges comment on the high standard of entries and this year was no different.
With virtually the entire 25-strong panel being highly experienced and discerning buyers of print, they’re used to seeing the best that the industry can offer on a regular basis, but even they were impressed with the awe-inspiring quality of many of the submissions.
And on top of the quality, the quantity of entries this year also grew substantially, with 27 firms entering the Environmental Company of the Year category alone, almost doubling the number of 2007 entries and proving the increasing importance placed on environmental concerns by the print sector.
Thank you to all the companies that entered the Awards and thank you to each of our sponsors, as it’s the unfailing support of both these groups that make the PrintWeek Awards the highlight of the industry’s calendar.
The winners will be unveiled on Monday 20 October at the Awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
So, for now at least, all remains is for me to congratulate all of the 80-plus finalists that made the shortlist – it really is a feat in itself.

I wonder if one day we will see 'Print Management Company of the Year' as more and more large organisations outsource print buying and print management companies become the face of print in the UK? Stationers will be debating the role of print management on 29th September at Stationers Hall in London, with media sponsor Printweek. Martin you may well see a print management company of the year but they need to have their own category.
The face of UK print, I hope not.

So what's wrong with using your real identity, Worried about open, honest debate? Reality is that for many large organisations print managment is already the face of UK print, and why? Well you explaine it well enough in your last blog where you said ;
