Free tool developed to help printers gain FSC/PEFC certification
The Howard Smith Group (HSPG) has partnered up with print consultancy group The Print Circle to launch a web-based tool to help printers secure FSC and PEFC accreditation.
The tool is free and incorporates a check-list to help determine how ready the business is for audit.
It offers the printer help in making an informed choice as to whether it should develop the policies using the tool at no cost. This can be complemented with a half-day or full consultancy from The Print Circle.
The Print Circle is a UK-based consultancy specialising in advice to the print, paper, publishing and allied industries.
It is one of the first major initiatives undertaken by the new HSPG Strategic Business Development Team.
The team includes former WRAP member Jonathan Tame, who joined HSPG in October last year.
Tame said: "Key to this initiative for organisations is not just the short-term gain in becoming certified, but the on-going value in helping them remain compliant.
"The partnership with The Print Circle demonstrates that we want to not only help our customers, but ensure that they attain the best possible advice and information."
