Chesapeake buys Mistral gluer to meet demand for complex products

Increased sales and a growing demand for more complex products have inspired Chesapeake to invest in a new Bobst Mistral folder gluer.

The machine, which has been installed at the company’s pharmaceutical packaging plant in Leicester, will run alongside a Nordson Logicomm gluing and verification system.

Chesapeake’s Leicester site produces complex pharmaceutical packaging products in considerable numbers. In recent years the demand for such products has increased significantly.

Mark Wilson, operations director at Chesapeake Leicester, said: Our work mix had changed over the past couple of years and we no longer had enough capacity on our more complex machines.

Because of the versatility of the Mistral, our design centre sees this as an opportunity to bring new designs to the market, ones that will, in particular, help our customers differentiate their products.
