Corrugated dominates January headlines on packagingnews.co.uk

Monday, 01 February 2010

The corrugated sector dominated the headlines in January as last week's revelations over Smurfit Kappa's takeover discussions with Mondi were the most-read story on packagingnews.co.uk

As well as the possible Smurfit-Mondi deal, readers were also interested in the confirmation that SAICA's £290m investment in a paper mill would go ahead.

The most commented story was the administration of Western Corrugated and the winding up of The Packaging Factory also intrigued readers.

Also of interest were Sharp Interpack's talks about a takeover by French group Guillin and Michael Cronin's appointment to the SCA Packaging helm.

Meanwhile, Packaging News has launched an appeal to raise funds for Haiti which was devastated by an earthquake last month. We've already raised £765 and if you would like to donate click on this link: www.justgiving.com/pnhaitiappeal
