Laetus barcode verifier unveiled

Wednesday, 04 April 2007

Laetus, the German supplier of pharmaceutical packaging security systems, has released a web-based security camera to verify barcode print quality.

The Argus Inspect WT can read and grade one- and two-dimensional barcodes, rejecting those that do not meet a pre-defined quality level.

The system can send information to a database, paving the way for full track-and-trace capability, said Laetus sales director Hendrik Kneusels.

Prices range from £16,000-£20,000.

*AlpVision has launched a server-based authentification system for brand owners to track and trace and protect their products from counterfeiting.

Krypsos can include the Cryptoglyph or Fingerprint covert security systems, as well as barcodes, 2D codes or OCR.
