Lincolnshire-based Van der Windt UK plans to target the agricultural, horticultural and retail sectors with its latest addition to its portfolio, collapsible mini crates.

The collapsible polypropylene crates measure 266x173mm and expand from 27mm in height when flat to 106mm in height when fully erected.

More than 460 flat crates can fit onto an 800x1,200mm ISO pallet.

A single-trip heavy-good vehicle can transport approximately 12,000 crates when expanded and more than 60,000 when flat.

The crates have proved particularly popular on the Continent where they are used for packing fruit, vegetables, herbs and plants and consumer goods.

Van der Windt general manager Richard Selby said: "The versatility of these mini crates is a very attractive feature, both in terms of their application across a wide range of sectors and their ability to be stored and transported easily."

Van der Windt also supply LDPE cover sheets in up to six colours and with optional ventilation holes.

Van der Windt UK is part of the Van der Windt Group, which serves 6,000 customers across Europe from bases in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Ireland.
