The great escape Volcanic ash could not stop Novalia’s Chris Jones, McDermid Autotype’s Tim Wright and Faraday’s Laurence Hogg (above, l-r) from getting home after the three were left stranded at IDTechEx in Dresden, Germany. After getting as far as Brussels by a mixture of train and hire car, the three called on Bob of Wantage Cars, now known as Bob Tracy International Rescue, who made the mammoth journey from the UK to Brussels to pick up the three and return them safely home (via the Dunkirk ferry). Well done, Bob.

GF Smith’s paper samples have been a favourite at PN Towers for a while. One staffer has a drawer full of the prints, which include beautiful photography from renowned photographer Rankin. Now fans will be able to get hold of full-size prints of the pictures via GF Smith’s new website, editionsfromgfsmith.com. Each print comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist.

Incredible but edible PN was alerted to a new form of packaging this month by Zenith International’s chairman Richard Hall on his bevblog.net website. Hall had discovered one of Spain’s new delicacies… the pizza cone. Of course, we had to investigate and, sure enough, Coneinn sells pizza in cones. Brilliance or madness, we couldn’t decide, but definitely a challenge for pick-and-place machines. Watch the video on Coneinn’s website coneinn.com and be amazed.
