James McNaughton rolls out second electric delivery vehicle
The James McNaughton Group has bolstered its green credentials with the second of its electric delivery vehicles to serve its Belfast city-based clients.
The paper merchant, which claims to be the first company to introduce zero emission deliveries in Ireland, is delivering graphic and office paper in the vehicles.
James McNaughton has already saved an estimated 4,250 litres of fuel in addition to 12 tonnes of CO2 exhaust emissions a year with its first electric truck.
Peter Love, branch manager of McNaughton Paper in Northern Ireland, said: "The paper industry is much maligned, so we wanted to do something that was environmentally responsible to help change that general perception."
He added: "To be the first business, let alone paper merchant in Ireland, to have this emissions-free technology is very exciting and reinforces our group-wide approach to finding sustainable solutions throughout our business."

This is amazing if true, no emmissions at all! Someone must have invented perpetual motion since I went to bed last night, or bought a hell of a lot of Duracell shares!

Well Done McNaughton,
I bet it would not make it down to Pembrokeshire though!

Hi Philip
I hope you are well, obviously missing RRD!
Save the forests, agreed, my theory goes something like this:
Grow it in plantations, bury it - dont recycle - \(edgy stuff this) , replant trees and, hey presto, nett result less carbon in atmosphere, more in ground \(where it came from in the first place) Just ask Paul Daniels!
Keep in touch
Mick
