Trafford Press: FSC and PEFC certified

Trafford Group claims green accreditations attracting new work

Trafford Press Group has achieved Chain of Custody for FSC and PEFC accreditation to bolster its environmental and social credentials.

As a result of the accreditations, Richard Hollings, managing director of the Doncaster-based company, said many busineeses have expressed interest in placing new work with the printer.

He said: "The environment is very important and, as consumers of paper, we should act responsibly.

"Many of our customers also feel this responsibility to the environment, and to continue our growth as a company, we needed to gain these environmental certificates."

All of the company's paper and board products, which are sourced on behalf of customers that specify that the product must be from such origins, will be purchased from either FSC or PEFC.

Hollings added: "We recognise the fact that forest management can be both environmentally appropriate and socially beneficial when products from an independently certified forestry source are used."

The company, which has 45 staff and a £3.5m turnover, has also started the process of becoming ISO14001 accredited, which it hopes to achieve by May next year.
