Arctic Paper to be used for ethical magazine
Arctic Paper UK's Munken Pure and Munken Print Cream grades have been chosen to produce environmental lifestyle magazine, Ethical Living.
The magazine is published six times a year by Ethical Publishing.
Ethical Living marketing and advertising manager Matthew Wilkinson said: Obviously we were looking for suppliers who matched our ethical standards and so sourced a paper that was not only nice looking and high quality but also had high environmental standards in the paper and the company that manufactured it.
In selecting Arctic Paper and the Munken Pure and Munken Print Cream grades we have ticked all the boxes environmentally, ethically, sustainably and in print quality.
Ethical Living is sold to consumers through distribution in Borders, Sainsburys, Wholefoods (Kensington), newsagents, health food shops and garden centres around the UK.

High environmental standards! - Using a mixed source FSC paper isn't exactly the ultimate environmentally friendly. Why not go for a part recycled paper and really make a difference?
According to WRAP [they] "conclude that recycling paper is better for the environment than alternative disposal methods such as landfill or incineration with energy recovery. Diversion from landfill for example negates the production of methane, a greenhouse gas 23 times more powerful than CO2."

It's not about ticking boxes! There are always choices to make when it comes to evaluating environmental performance \(e.g. carbon vs conservation, recycled vs performance). My own view is that since the post-consumer waste recycling process only recovers 50% of the material, you are 'doing your bit' if you specify a paper with at least 50% post-consumer recycled pulp \(because the other 50% will need to be sourced from virgin fibre, that is until the day we can get rid of junk print once and for all).
