Cats and Hobbs share contract

Cats Solutions and Hobbs the Printers have shared the spoils in a £1.7m tender for Network Rail.

According to documents posted on the Official Journal of the European Union, Swindon-based digital specialist Cats has won the bulk of the work, taking £1.3m of the one-year print spend.

Hampshire litho printer Hobbs, meanwhile, will produce around £400,000 worth of work for Network Rail’s infrastructure division.

The work involves printing and mailing two publications – a weekly and a bimonthly operating notice – to people working both within Network Rail and the Train Operating Companies.

Hobbs and Cats beat competition from two other companies for the work, according to the notice.
