Stora Enso has finalised the divestment of its merchant business Papyrus to Altor, which was announced on 6 March 2008.

The total value of the transaction was €640m (£498), including approximately €490m in cash. The final financial input of this transaction on Stora Enso will be disclosed on 24 July 2008, when the company’s second-quarter 2008 results are released. The unit was divested as part of Stora Enso’s strategy of focusing the business portfolio of the group.
