Sharman & Company prints new weekly newspaper

Peterborough-based printer Sharman & Company has secured the print contract for the new North Lincolnshire weekly paper, the Cleethorpes Chronicle.

The family-run firm is printing the 10,000 run paid-for newspaper, which launched last week.

Sharman is printing the Cleethorpes Chronicle on its Albert newspaper press, which features two Tensor T-400BE web-offset printing towers.

The 14-staff printer, which also produces titles such as the Basingstoke Observer and Urdu Times, is producing the weekly publication on 45gsm newspaper print stock.

The first issue of the 48pp community title initially launched as a free taster issue, with all 20,000 copies being distributed.

The newspaper features a focus on local issues, community issues as well as a seven-day television guide.

Cleethorpes Chronicle director and editor Nigel Lowther told printweek.com Sharman and Company is a family run firm that "has provided us with a very good service from start to finish".
