Aurora bought by Watershed

Watershed Packaging has bought troubled print and packaging firm Aurora Colors, after it went into administration last month.

The Caerphilly, Wales-based firm is understood to have suffered from a “poor trading year” which led to its downfall and the loss of five staff.

Leeds-based Watershed Packaging’s managing director John Waters said that there was a bright future for the company. He said: “We are looking to consolidate the suppliers that have lost out over this. It’s going to be tough but, looking forward, we remain confident.”

David Wilson and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor’s Leeds office were appointed administrators of Aurora Colors on 18 January 2008.

A spokeswoman for Begbies Traynor said: “Administrators were able to negotiate a sale of the company’s assets, effective immediately upon appointment, maximising the recovery for the company’s creditor and securing continuity for clients.”
