Laetus unveils anti-counterfeit device
By Jill Park Friday, 27 April 2007
German pharmaceutical security systems supplier Laetus is launching the Tracking wt to combat counterfeiting in the pharmaceutical sector.
Tracking wt uses barcode reading and vision-sensor technology to log pack information in a database for review purposes, in case production later crashes.
Scanned information, which is held up to seven years, can be recalled so the unique ID number can be destroyed and the contents reworked into a recoded and valid carton.
The kit’s database specifications are compatible with those currently under review by the government.
The machinery has already been successfully applied to phone card tracking.
