Reed: staff were freed up to do their jobs
Making light work of mailing for Reed
By Lisa Berwin Sunday, 01 April 2007
A Document Dynamics management system from CFH has helped Reed Recruitment handle its national mailing and direct marketing requirements. The web-based system means the recruitment specialist can carry out very targeted marketing campaigns that are individual to local branches.
Senior marketing executive for Reed Nick Jemetta said: “It used to be the case that head office would send templates of any promotional matter to all the branches and they would then make their own modifications. Following this, they had to sort lists of candidates, perform the mail merges, print the letters, stuff the envelopes and do all the franking.”
However, this arduous process was costly and not the most efficient use of staff time. “Every Friday afternoon our recruitment consultants were having to be glorified envelope stuffers and this suited no-one,” Jemetta recalls. “Since working with CFH, we estimate that we have saved more than 108,000 man hours.”
Around 16 months ago, Reed Recruitment was introduced to CFH through its print management firm and its first basic central mailing system took shape. Beginning with individual branches adjusting templates, CFH then took over the mail merging and posting duties leaving the Reed staff free to do their jobs.
“The work we do with CFH has grown over time and we are now able to do very specific mailers and let individual branches have more control over their templates and any regional campaigns.” Reed is now looking to develop new marketing features such as colour business cards, pre-paid envelopes and using digital printing presses to take its personalisation capabilities one step further.
“We have been delighted with the service we have received from CFH,” says Jemetta. “I am in very close contact with our account manager, speaking to her four or five times a day. They also send us monthly reports showing us what branches are using which templates and what our response rates have been.”
