Fujifilm unveils environmentally friendly thermal plate

Fujifilm has launched a high-speed thermal plate for newspaper applications, the Brillia LH-NN2, at Ifra Expo 2008.

The company described it as a high-quality, environmentally friendly range of digital plate products, that now consists of violet and thermal versions, with processed, chemistry-free and processless derivatives.

With 830nm laser diode platesetters, the Brillia is designed for newspaper production and, according to Fujifilm, provides high sensitivity for extended laser life.

It also has long developer life for economy and minimal environmental impact, as it uses Fujifilm’s patented MultiGrain technology for reduced ink usage and improved ink and water balance.
