Friary boss quits after three months

Friary Press managing director Jon Parvin has resigned just months after he was reappointed at the helm of the company.

The shock departure follows the acquisition of the company out of administration by HS Printers.

Parvin’s exit comes just three months after he returned to Friary Press following his initial resignation last summer.

Parvin declined to expand on the reasons behind his resignation but said: there was a disagreement over the future direction the business should go in.

Richard Granger, formerly customer services manager, has been appointed as the new managing director.

HS Printers acquired the former Media and Print Investments businesses of Goodman Baylis, incorporating the Friary Press and Borcombe SP, last month. It has had a hostile reception from suppliers, due to debts left by the former owner.
