First Bizhub at Vignesh Graphics in Madurai

The Madurai-based company made the investment on the Bizhub Pro 6501 to reach-out to the new-age print buyer and improve efficiency of short-run work.

For managing director T R Mohan Ram it "was definitely the right time" to invest in digital and the press was "a whole new way of working".

Mohan Ram who is also president of the local Madurai print association with 350 members, said: "Of this, four members have a four-colour press and 22 members offers digital services." He added: "Now, our members can produce jobs which cater to new industries that are developing in Madurai. Buyers don't want to travel to Sivakasi or Chennai anymore."

Mohan Ram said: "The Bizhub Pro produces 6,500 A4 impressions per hour with an output volume of up to 2,00,000 pages per month on substrates of up to 300gsm."
