Lush staff hold naked protest against packaging

By Liz Wells Wednesday, 27 August 2008

Lush, the luxury cosmetics company, is to hold its latest naked in store protests against packaging today (27 August) at 24 stores across the US.

Staff members at Lush will be highlighting the issue by wearing only aprons that read: "Ask me why I'm naked."

The protests are part of the retailer's 'Get Naked' campaign - a coordinated global effort with similar events happening at Lush stores across the world.

One store manager said: "We won't be mooning anyone. But we also think it's important to raise awareness."

Protests have taken place in Canada in August 2007 and in the UK in July last year.

Lush has no packaging on dozens of products in more than 100 shops across North America, doing away with bottles, tubes and caps by selling shampoos and other toiletries as solid bars.
